Hauges honored with Healthy Community Award

For the first time, the annual Healthy Communities Award was presented to two people for their impact on the community, Drs. Tom Hauge, DDS, and Paul Hauge. Tom accepted the award for the both of them at the Osceola Community Health Foundation Fiesta Gala, a reboot of their annual Holiday Gala. Presenting the award is Osceola Medical Center CEO Matt Forge.

Osceola business owners, dentists Tom and Paul Hauge, were presented with the annual Osceola Community Health Foundation Healthy Communities Award at its recent spring Fiesta Gala.

Created to recognize the impact individuals have on the community, the Healthy Communities Award was presented to the Hauges for demonstrating outstanding leadership and community service to improve the health and vitality of our community, according to Jill Leahy, executive director of OCHF.

“This award recognizes the generosity, perseverance, friendliness and indomitable spirit these two individuals have brought, and continue to bring, to our communities,” Leahy said.

The Foundation’s Fiesta Gala is a reboot of its winter holiday gala as a spring celebration. It regularly raises tens of thousands of dollars for health-related needs in the community. This year, the Gala is helping Osceola Medical Center improve the health and well-being of our community. Funds this year will help advance OMC’s Lab with a new chemical analyzer. With 70 tests offered at OMC – including for cancer, diabetes, heart disease and immune disorders – the Lab is a critical part of our local care, Leahy said, adding that this piece of equipment will allow OMC to keep tests in-house, and is crucial to providing faster, cost effective results for patients. Funds are continuing to be raised for this equipment.
