Alex Grunenwald, DO
Emergency Medicine
Philosophy of Care:Â I believe in a patient-centered approach to emergency medicine. This extends beyond rapid stabilization and diagnosis within the Emergency Department. It incorporates a plan that can be followed beyond the walls of the hospital, a home support system, and access to follow-up care.
What drew you to work at OMC? Access to experienced emergency care is a challenge in small-town America. Having grown up in rural Wisconsin, the opportunity to serve a community similar to the one I grew up in is a privilege. To provide this care with a team of supportive and like-minded individuals is a pleasure.
What do you like to do when you’re not at OMC? I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, taking in a baseball or football game, or trying a new restaurant.
Fun Fact: I worked with the Red Cross in Xela, Guatemala, while I was in medical school.
